The kill bill whistle song comes from the movie Kill Bill. There were two Kill Bill movies and the kill bill whistle song comes from the first movie. Kill Bill is an American martial arts film made in 2003. It was directed and written by Quentin Tarantino. The stars in the film included Uma Thurman, Darrell Hannah, Lucy Liu, David Carradine, and Vivica A. Fox. Uma Thurman is a bride who wants revenge on a team of assassins. She wants revenge because this team of assassins try to kill both her and her unborn child. She ends up going to Japan where she fights against the Tokyo Yakuza.
The Yakuza are a group of members who belong to a transnational organized crime syndicate from Japan. The Japanese media and police call this group boryokudan, which means “violent group”. The Yakuza call themselves ninkyo dantal, which means a chivalrous organization. The Yakuza are extremely notorious for their organized fierce nature and their strict code of conduct. They are very present in the Japanese media and the have an international organization of 100,000 members.
Tarantino developed “Kill Bill” as a type of homage for grindhouse cinema that included samurai cinema, martial art films, spaghetti westerns, and blaxploitation. The film features various sequences that are animated by Production I.G. The film originally was to be released as a single but it had a run time of four hours and therefore it was divided into two volumes, volume 1 and volume 2. “Kill Bill” became the highest grossing film of its time for Tarantino. It had box office earnings of over $180 million. The second volume was released in 2004.
The plot begins with a woman in a wedding dress lying wounded in an El Paso, Texas Chapel. This bride has just been attacked by a viper assassination squad. She pleads for mercy from the leader of the squad because she is pregnant with his baby. The leader, Bill, shoots her in the head. The bride survives and after four years she makes a plan to kill every one of the assassins.
The movie then heads back to the original shooting location of the bride. There is a police investigation at the wedding chapel. The sherriff finds the bride alive but in a comatose state. She is taken to the hospital to recover. A member of the deadly assassination squad is preparing to finish off the bride with a lethal injection. This is where the kill bill whistle song comes into play. The kill bill whistle song later becomes a cult song legend. Bill aborts the assassin from completing the mission because he feels that it is dishonorable to kill someone who cannot defend themselves.
Eventually the bride awakens only to find out that she is no longer pregnant. A hospital employee, who has been raping the bride while she was comatose, is then killed by the bride. The bride takes his truck and escapes. At this point in the movie the bride makes a resolution to kill all four members of the assassination squad plus their leader, Bill.
The movie was conceived by both Q. Tarantino and Uma Thurman during the production of “Pulp Fiction”. Tarantino was living in New York City where he spent 1 1/2 years writing the “Kill Bill” script. During that time he associated with Thurman and her newly born daughter. This association influenced Tarantino’s decision to use a bride with an unborn child in the movie. Originally, he wanted Warren Beatty to be Bill but as the character developed it required martial arts abilities. He therefore changed the script and rewrote it for David Carradine.…
